Did I see who I thought I saw,
Was there something in that beer?
I thought I saw my father
standing in the Crown and Spear,
That grotty little Nazi bar,
You know the one I mean,
He wasn’t there to protest,
Quite the reverse from what I could glean.
Cos I saw my dad in the Nazi bar,
Cos I saw my dad in the Nazi bar.
The late nights would make sense,
The way he hides his arms,
Those comments I just thought were jokes,
Are starting to ring alarms,
Cos I saw my dad in the Nazi bar,
Cos I saw my dad in the Nazi bar.
I remember him now,
Off to the pub on Super Sunday,
Hanging out with his best mate ray,
Looking for their next prey,
Knuckles bruised on hungover Monday.
Saw my dad in a Nazi bar
Saw my dad in a Nazi bar
Saw my dad in a Nazi bar
Saw my dad in a Nazi bar
Now I see him true,
Voting for blue and hitting a Jew,
He’s a thug, a brown shirt, in the new.
What should I do,
Now. he’s. changed my view,
Cos I saw my dad in the Nazi bar,
Those late nights make total sense,
Showing his arms with such pride,
Those comments I just thought were jokes,
They can no longer be thrown aside
Cos I saw my dad in the Nazi bar,
Cos I saw my dad in the Nazi bar.

Grinnin' In Your Face

Don't you mind people grinnin' in your face
Don't mind people grinnin' in your face
You just bear this in mind, a true friend is hard to find
Don't you mind people grinnin' in your faceYou know your mother would talk about you
Your own sisters and your brothers too
They just don't care how you're tryin' to live
They'll talk about you stillYes, but bear, ooh, this in mind, a true friend is hard to find
Don't you mind people grinnin' in your face
Don't you mind people grinnin' in your face
Don't you mind people grinnin' in your face
Oh, just bear, ooh this in mind, a true friend is hard to find
Don't you mind people grinnin' in your faceYou know they'll jump you up and down
They'll carry you all 'round and 'round
Just as soon as your back is turned
They'll be tryin' to crush you down
Yes, but bear this in mind, a true friend is hard to find
Don't you mind people grinnin' in your face
Don't mind people grinnin' in your face
Don't mind people grinnin' in your face, oh, LordAnd just bear this in mind, a true friend is hard to find
Don't you mind people grinnin' in your face

Bedsheet Blues
01:35
|

I woke up one morning
You were gone
I was on the verge of tears
You took my kettle but not your bong
I can’t focus, I can’t think
I can’t get out of bed
I’ve never expected love
It’s not a prerequisite
And I thank you
Because
I don’t think
Before I feel
I’m sorry for the things I said
The broken window
The smell of motor oil
In our bed
I feel best when you’re on
The verge of tears
You broke me
in two
And I thank you
Because
I don’t think
Before I feel
I woke up morning
and you were gone

The wind blows violently down the street,
A storm is brewing,
The thunder strikes as if announcing his arrival,
The Coolest Man in Greggs
The staff go white as a sheet,
The customers step away creating a path,
Even a dog bows its head in obedience.
He inhales the fumes of these baked goods
His eyes flutter with delight,
As he strides forward.
‘A Festive Bake’, he shouts and declares,
He doesn’t even wait to be asked,
Everyone gasps,
An old lady faint’s,
A dog bolt’s,
A small trickle of piss escapes one of the staff members pants
‘But Sir its the 4th of July’,
Reply’s the staff member,
To which he says
‘A Festive Bake’,
‘A festive bake’ he screams again,
Sending all the staff in a frenzy,
Dough fly’s everywhere,
As they try to meet his demands.
‘Here, a festive bake’,
Says the staff member trembling
Everyone is quite
waiting for the verdict.
He takes a bite,
Swirls it in his mouth,
Gargles a little,
Then silence.
He raises his bake,
‘Christmas has come early’,
Everyone cheers,
The staff begin to cry with joy,
Everyone’s hugging each other.
One thing is clear
To everyone here
‘Christmas has come early!’
Just as mysteriously as he came
The coolest man in greggs
Was on his way
